About Elsa

img_aboutElsa Rose Eastabrook has been practicing, learning from and loving yoga since she was 17 years old, although it was not love at first pose.

Elsa came from a multi-sports background. She played competitive Hockey for nearly 10 years. She competed in field lacrosse, rowing and boxing and even long distance running for a few years.

Her journey into a yoga practice began when her boxing trainers suggested she do yoga as a compliment to the high impact training she was dong for the sport. It was not love at first sight- but something kept her coming back. Each new milestone in life brought a deeper connection to her practice, a better understanding of how the body works and reacts to things.

After injury and motherhood took a toll on her body, yoga took front and centre in rehab, strengthening better than before. Elsa naturally approached Power Yoga like it was a sport, training setting goals and passionately pursuing knowledge and understanding of the functionality of the practice.

Research into coaches, trainers, athletes who use and have used yoga and mental training as a way to keep the body and performance in top shape. (Phil Jackson, Tiger Woods, Micheal Jordan, Yogi Barra- the list goes on) lead to Elsa’s understanding the connection between athletic performance and Yoga Practice.

So many of Elsa’s dedicated students are athletes and she is continually being sought out by athletes and health professionals.

As she began to see the parallels between life on and off the mat and learned to express her creativity and joy through the movement of Yoga, she knew she needed to share and teach others to do the same.

Power Yoga For Sports was developed by Gwen Lawrence, an internationally celebrated yoga coach to world class athletes and teams. She has been training teams such as the NY Giants, Rangers, Knicks and Yankees for over 17 years.

In 2015, when Elsa discovered she had the opportunity to work with Gwen Lawrence and to study her methods- she could not pass it up and went to NY to bring Power Yoga for Sport to Canada for the first time!

Elsa Rose has been teaching since 2012 and is a certified E-RYT 200 and RYT 500. She has trained Through Hybrid Flow (500 hrs), Baptist power yoga, Kathryn Budig and Jason Crandell.
